CollabNet Enterprise Edition 5.0
The leading collaborative platform for your development teams to share ideas, knowledge and resources

CollabNet Enterprise Edition 5.0 (CEE5.0) is a major new release of the industry’s premiere distributed software development platform. With CEE 5.0, CollabNet redefines the boundaries for collaborative development and establishes CEE 5.0 as the cornerstone platform for successful distributed development initiatives.

To keep their companies globally competitive, geographically distributed teams are increasingly faced with the necessity of also collaborating transparently with external business partners. In a direct response to this vital demand, CollabNet’s new CEE 5.0 platform delivers the latest collaboration technology combined with robust project management, user role management and permission system. Software projects gain the ability to extend collaboration and cooperate on project content, coding, reporting and lifecycle management across and beyond their own organizations.

What’s new in CollabNet Enterprise Edition 5.0?
  • Wiki capabilities at the project level: CEE 5.0 brings Wiki capabilities to software projects and developer communities. The integration of Wiki capabilities at the project level not only enables project members to easily collaborate on project content, but also respecting assigned user roles and permissions, it enables them to create, view and search content that only they need to access. The powerful combination of Wiki and security at the project level is critical to projects that need to pull-in external resources such as contractors, customers, or off-shored teams.
  • Subversion transaction and activity reporting: as the primary sponsor of Subversion, CollabNet keeps adding enterprise-level features to Subversion. CEE 5.0 adds Subversion reporting capabilities to CollabNet’s development platform and brings more visibility into the state of development activities on a specific project or a group of projects. Project members and project managers can now track and report on user transactions such as the number of code check-outs, commits and imports done over a period of time at the project level or at the platform level. The enhanced Subversion reporting capabilities also bring visibility to metrics such as most active projects, developers that contribute the most to any given project and most frequently downloaded code components.
  • New generation of online discussion services: CEE 5.0 merges communication capabilities, such as email and discussion forums, into one set of structured tools that are integrated with the development lifecycle and development tools. Integrated mailing lists and discussion forums enable better visibility through both project level discussion forums and email exchanges. The upgrade delivers additional usability improvements, such as easier management of user subscriptions and provides improved tools to moderate related email threads and discussion forums consistently.
  • Extensible Platform: CollabNet Enterprise Edition is also designed to integrate with most commonly used development tools. In CEE 5.0, APIs are extended to support operations for project management, such as project creation, role and permission control and the administration of user membership and role associations.
