John Stossel Takes on Myths, Lies and Nasty Behavior

In Myths, Lies and Nasty Behavior, John Stossel reported on 10 things often believed to be true - but aren't. Stossel interviewed CollabNet CEO Bill Portelli to get his view on myth number 4, Outsourcing Is Bad for American Workers. CNN anchor Lou Dobbs appeared on the episode as well and stated "Just because of cheap labor, we're destroying our middle class. That is just stupid."

Stossel countered by referencing a Dartmouth study which found that companies that outsource create jobs in the U.S. at a faster rate than companies that don't outsource. The Dartmouth study found that companies that outsourced abroad ended up hiring twice as many workers at home.

Portelli cited the CollabNet experience by concluding "Basically I've created jobs in America. I built better products, created jobs, been able to raise salaries."
