CollabNet joins Mercury BTO ecosystem as Elite alliance partner, supports comprehensive approach to Application Lifecycle Management

Distributed Software Development Solution Integrates with Mercury BTO Enterprise

BRISBANE, Calif., October 11, 2005 — CollabNet, the leading provider of on-demand (SaaS) distributed software development solutions, today announced that the company has been selected as a member of the Mercury BTO (Business Technology Optimization) partner ecosystem. Membership is based on CollabNet's shared lifecycle approach and solution integration with Mercury BTO Enterprise. The CollabNet Connector to Mercury TestDirector has also been validated as an Elite Connection.

Mercury BTO Enterprise helps govern and manage IT and optimize application quality, performance, and availability. CollabNet Enterprise Edition 4.0 integrates tools for software development, project management, knowledge management, and communication management in an on-demand Web-based software development environment.

"The software development industry has entered a new era in which applications are collaboratively developed and deployed by decentralized teams over the Internet. By partnering with Mercury, CollabNet helps these geographically distributed testing and development teams seamlessly work together to efficiently track and resolve defects across the application lifecycle," said Bill Portelli, President & CEO, CollabNet. "With reduced lifecycle development and testing costs and faster time to market, companies can better serve the needs of their customers and partners in this interconnected world."

The recently announced CollabNet Enterprise Edition 4.0 integrates directly with Mercury TestDirector through the CollabNet Connector Suite and allows testing and development teams to work together more efficiently when tracking and resolving defects across systems. The CollabNet Connector gathers defects from TestDirector and synchronizes them with the CollabNet environment, allowing members of the testing team to seamlessly pass defects to the software development team. Test plans created in Mercury TestDirector can also be version controlled using CollabNet Subversion, the leading solution for distributed version control on the Internet.
