CollabNet appoints new vice president to lead expanding Asia-Pacific operations

Woods to address fast-growing demand for CollabNet distributed software development solutions in Asia-Pacific region

BRISBANE, Calif., November 15, 2005 — CollabNet, the leading provider of on-demand distributed software development solutions, today announced the appointment of Vaughan Woods as vice president of its Asia-Pacific business unit. In this newly created position, Woods assumes responsibility for CollabNet Asia-Pacific sales, operations, and professional services. CollabNet has existing investments in India, Japan, and Korea. With this executive appointment, the company plans to expand its presence in the region in 2006.

"CollabNet will continue to invest in its Asia-Pacific -based operations in response to the strong demand from businesses for our distributed software development solutions," said Chris Clabaugh, vice president of business development at CollabNet. "Vaughan's proven business development experience in this region will enable us to tap into the exceptional growth opportunities and increase our presence in this part of the world."

Prior to his appointment at CollabNet, Woods led the IBM Rational Asia-Pacific business and performed in a sales management capacity for the IBM Software Group Asia-Pacific business unit targeted at the mid-market. Woods was responsible for establishing IBM WebSphere in Australia and New Zealand after joining IBM from BEA Systems.

"The market has changed and projects no longer take two years to complete by single teams working in centralized compounds. Instead, they are broken into smaller pieces, individually funded and geographically dispersed - all of which requires the software business to evolve to the distributed software development model created by CollabNet," said Woods. "Both the timing and the market are right for CollabNet to place strategic emphasis in Asia-Pacific and I am confident we will make this business unit a significant contributor to CollabNet growth and success."
