CollabNet Earns Highest Score for Strategy in May 2010 Report
BRISBANE, Calif., May 6, 2010 — CollabNet®, the leader in Agile application lifecycle management (Agile ALM) in the Cloud, announced today that Forrester Research, Inc. has positioned CollabNet as a Leader in the “Forrester Wave: Agile Development Management Tools, Q2 2010” (May 2010). CollabNet’s status as a leader was determined by evaluating the industry’s top ten vendors against 152 criteria in the areas of current offering, strategy, and market presence. In the report, CollabNet earned the highest score for strategy, with the top score in corporate strategy. Forrester selected CollabNet for inclusion in the report because it is one company displaying “healthy growth or strong market presence, experience serving large enterprises, and a focus on Agile development.”
The report states that, “[b]ased on its experience with open source development and the Subversion configuration management tool, CollabNet has strong support for Agile project management and task management. Because of its distributed heritage, it offers a very secure platform with strong support for encryption and authorization.”
CollabNet recently acquired Danube, a company focused on Agile/Scrum project management solutions, further bolstering CollabNet’s position as a leader in the emerging Agile ALM market. Danube’s ScrumCore process training and ScrumWorks® products complement the CollabNet TeamForge® ALM platform for organizations seeking to adopt, implement, and scale Agile software development programs. The report notes that, “[d]ue to the timing of the acquisition, no products or services from Danube were included in this report.”
Free webinars addressing a wide variety of Agile software development topics are available for viewing on CollabNet’s website, www.open.collab.net/news/webinars.
“We’re honored to receive this recognition in Forrester’s evaluation of Agile development management tools,” said Bill Portelli, chief executive officer, CollabNet. “We observe the ALM and Agile planning market segments converging into a single space we call ‘Agile ALM.’ Through acquisition and innovation, we’re moving aggressively to meet customer demand in this area, leveraging the Cloud to transform the way today’s organizations develop software.”
This honor follows many other recent awards, including the Great Indian Developer Award, a Federal 100 award, and CollabNet’s recognition as a Technology Pioneer by the World Economic Forum.
Forrester’s report evaluated the strengths and weaknesses of the industry’s top vendors using three data sources: hands-on lab evaluations, vendor surveys, and customer reference calls. More information about the report and related research is available at www.forrester.com.
