A quick overview of activity in your project, or across multiple projects, can help you spot problems, share accomplishments, and keep things running smoothly. The reports that are now available are based on Project Tracker artifacts and Subversion operations.
You can create two types of reports:
- Trend reports: Display activity over a period of time.
- For Project Tracker, each trend line represents an artifact type. For example, you may want to generate a trend report when you need to know the number of defects of a particular priority that were open during the past month, in segments of one week.
- For Subversion, each trend line represents a Subversion activity like commit, download, checkout and so on. For example, you may want to know the count of Subversion commits made over the past month.
- Point in time: Show status at a particular moment.
- For Project Tracker, each stack or cluster represents an artifact type or an attribute option. You may want to generate a point in time report when you need to know the number of defects of a particular priority that are open today.
- For Subversion, each stack or cluster represents a Subversion operation or filedownloads count or users or projects in a domain. You may want to generate a point in time report that tells you the number of Subversion operations performed on a particular day.
When you click a report image, you can view the details in the Metrics report page. You can also edit the parameters and regenerate the report.
Background
While generating a report you can select one or more of the available artifact types and filter them by specific attributes. For example, you can create a report for the project life span, on all defects of a particular priority, that were targeted for a specific release.
In the case of Subversion reports, you can generate reports and click them and the drill-down capability will list out projects or filenames that go into making the report count (depending on the kind of report generated) to monitor the activity in the site.
