CollabNet Desktop Eclipse and Microsoft Visual Studio Editions
A multi-disciplined approach to Distributed ALM
CollabNet Desktops gives developers access to CollabNet's platform for distributed application lifecycle management (ALM) from within their preferred integrated development environment (IDE). The integrations enable developers using Microsoft Visual Studio or Eclipse or both tools to access the rich set of features and functionality of the CollabNet TeamForge™ ALM platform and the Subversion software configuration management (SCM) tool directly from their IDEs.
Unified environment for development tasks and project management
Access your Subversion source code repository and all project artifacts stored in CollabNet’s platform for distributed application lifecycle management (ALM).
Collaborate easily with QA team members from within your development environment by leveraging integrations, such as CollabNet Tracker Connector to HP Quality Center.
Manage projects easily with features such as drag and drop access to documents and file releases.
Easy access and management for projects and repositories
Add all your CollabNet projects to your workspace by entering only a server URL and credentials.
Save time and frustration with auto-configuration of related repositories for Subversion and project artifacts – it all happens for you automatically when you add a project to your workspace.
Automatic project updates ensure that you always see the latest information in your development environment.
Predefined and custom queries
Choose from a long list of predefined queries, such as active tasks or tasks assigned to me, to save time and get started quickly.
Create focused queries on tasks of interest, such as those that are assigned to a particular developer.
Query results are automatically refreshed with the repository, so users see the latest changes to existing tasks as well as creation of new ones that meet their criteria.
Powerful CollabNet Subversion client
Simplify the process of merging changes between branches. Apply best practices checks that are predefined and included in the merge client. Resolve conflicts either automatically or interactively.
Link commits to issues filed in CollabNet projects for change-set based merges.
Reduce the number of tools a developer needs to do their job while still contributing and collaborating with the project team.
Build & Test Integration
Integrate with a continuous build server for agile development.
Define rules that post build results directly into a developer’s workspace and automatically assign issues, as specified.
Post a successful build directly into the file release system of your CollabNet project.
Manage Virtual Servers with Lab Management
Provision a server configured the way you want it, when you want it, for build/test or other development services.
Create and manage virtual server profiles using a graphical interface.
Manage resources in your private cloud or in a public cloud, such as Amazon EC2.
Support for SSH
No external SSH client needed. Everything the user needs for SSH access is included. This is especially useful for Windows developers that do not already have an SSH client installed.
The user has the option of using an external terminal client if they prefer, or if their IDE does not include a fully featured SSH terminal.
Automated management of SSH tunnels needed to access hosts frees the user from the complex task of establishing SSH tunnels. Tunnels are created on-the-fly when the user requests to access the host using either the built-in or external client.
Establish application-specific tunnels. This frees the user from having to setup one or more tunnels that are needed to access an application running on a remote host. The user can configure the ports they need access to and have them all connected automatically.
