Hosted Flexibility

Instant Access & Upgrades

Hosted Flexibility

We've pioneered and delivered the industry's most robust Hosted deployment model for Web-based distributed software development. With the TeamForge Hosted option, your up-front Information Technology (IT) investment is eliminated.

In stark contrast to traditional LAN-based solutions, the TeamForge Hosted option provides instant access for new team members, upgrades in minutes, and anytime, anywhere access to all project artifacts.

Broad Bandwidth and Reliable Access

CollabNet has access to a worldwide network backbone. Connectivity to this backbone is via a multiple gigabit connections, which can be easily expanded to satisfy customer requirements.

CollabNet datacenter partners have nearly 500 peering relationships at its datacenter facilities. These relationships allow CollabNet to connect its datacenter network directly to other Internet providers as desired. The third party peer link allows for connectivity redundancy independent of the CollabNet datacenter provider. It allows CollabNet to work seamlessly around network problems within the provider's fabric, as well as to perform "traffic shaping" to provide customers with the best, fastest and most reliable user experience. The traffic shaping capability allows CollabNet to determine the highest-performance Internet routes between the CollabNet environment clusters and the customer's own facilities.

Scalable Server Farm

CollabNet runs on industry-leading operating systems and servers, offering superior security management and reliability. In addition, each server is hardened, ensuring all unnecessary services and daemons are disabled, eliminating risk of attack via back doors in non-essential services. Within each Internet datacenter, the LAN architecture has been designed to scale at a pace equal to or greater than our client's bandwidth requirements. Using a layer 2/3 switch, the architecture allows rapid scalability in anticipation of customer demand.

The datacenter facilities are reinforced against possible earthquake damage, and protected by physical access security, including human security guards, a pass card system, video surveillance, and other security measures. Within the facilities, all equipment is in CollabNet's own secure cages and can be accessed only by CollabNet-authorized personnel. CollabNet's space within the datacenter can be quickly reconfigured to accommodate overall growth in CollabNet's business or the needs of a particular customer.

The datacenter provides stable temperature and humidity levels for operating computer and network equipment. Advanced detection technology is used to detect smoke and fire at a very early stage, and then triggers a fire suppression system that is designed to protect electrical equipment and to confine fire suppression techniques to only the area affected.

Redundant Power

The datacenter provides multiple Main Points of Entry (MPOEs) for electrical power to provide redundancy in the event of a failure of any one external power source. Within the datacenter, all power is run through a Continuous Power System (CPS) that conditions the power for use within the center and provides two levels of redundancy, one to provide backup in the immediate aftermath of an external power outage, and a second to provide emergency power during an extended outage. The system meets or exceeds the rigorous requirements of power quality standards mandated by the United States Department of Defense and others.

Hosted Solution Security

Security is provided in the CollabNet environment on multiple layers, including the physical, network, host, and application layers. CollabNet datacenter partners maintain a 24x7 staff presence, network staff, and security guards at the datacenter. Coupled with physical defenses including bulletproof glass, video cameras, and motion detectors, no portion of the facility is left unmonitored for any length of time.

All CollabNet servers are on their own dedicated Ethernet segment to ensure the privacy of data transmitted between servers and are behind a firewall to prevent outside attacks.

We want to thank you and your team for providing support to us during a critical time in which we were unable to access TeamForge. We especially want to commend CollabNet employees, Orlando and Annamalai – they were instrumental in getting us back up and running and appreciate all that they did to assist. CollabNet's dedication to its customers is outstanding and should be recognized – Thank you!

- Cyndi Stegall, AnalyzeSoft

Orlando was very help full in standing up our new site and getting all the data and settings moved over with very minimal down time.

- Eli Garcia, Northrop Grumman - Information Systems - Carson, CA

I have to say that Martin has always been helpful, informed, and patient in either explaining to me how things work or in actually getting them resolved to my satisfaction. Even though we communicate only by email, I know that when I send something to him, he will respond in a timely manner; I can rely on the fact that I will get an answer. It is rare to find such support these days, and I am greatly appreciate it.

- Heidi Mayerhofer, Deutsche Bank

I would like to thank Annamalai for his efforts starting from understanding the issue, working with SVN engineers on this and finding out the solution for this issue. It is our pleasure to have CollabNet for our support.

- Meru Jain, Hewitt Associates LLC

Orlando did a fantastic job of working through issues involved in upgrading our Development TeamForge server from 5.4 to 6.1, asking the right questions, and explaining what was happening as we went along. He was also willing to stick around and answer some questions unrelated to the specific case. So, I was really pleased all around: - the wait on the phone was not long. - Suresh got me to the appropriate person very quickly. - a WebEx was very quickly set up. - Orlando worked through the problems very proficiently and thoroughly.

- Mike Gardner, IT Architect Crown Castle USA, Inc.

Mary Gokoffski was very knowledgeable in the specific technical challenges we faced. She provided a web-ex to ensure proper understanding and knowledge transfer. When we hit areas where further investigation was required we explained that we needed a response within 10 days to meet our aggressive schedule...Mary responded within 24 hours. While CollabNet has a history of excellent customer support, this was even better than normal. Thank you very much .

- John J. Lysaght Jr, Barclay Card US

It was a delight to work with Orlando Castro. His commanding knowledge of linux systems helped us tremendously in quicker rebuilds and testing the application right away. On those issues where he was not familiar he was very persistent in resolving them by contacting the right people. I appreciate all the help provided by him and his teammates in upgrading our product from 5.3 to 6.1. Thanks again.

- Raj Subramanian, Epsilon

The level of excellence in customer support you guys are displaying reminds me of how Microsoft was back in the 3.1 and VB 3.0 days. Super-duper! I hope you guys keep it up and don't get so big and so fat that you wind up moving slow as molasses on a cold winter day. Don't let me down like that CollabNet!
