CollabNet to Collaborate with HP to Streamline the End-to-End Development and Quality Processes
TeamForge Integration with HP Quality Center Provides Requirements-to-Release ALM Solution
BRISBANE, Calif., June 15, 2010 — CollabNet® announced today a collaboration with HP that will provide customers with an end-to-end Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) solution that supports software application development from requirements definition, through development and testing, to release.
The solution enables business analysts, project managers, developers, and quality assurance teams to collaborate in defining, developing, and testing applications in a distributed environment while working with their choice of tools. At the heart of the solution is the CollabNet TeamForge® platform’s technical integration with HP Quality Center. The integration provides bi-directional synchronization of requirements, epics, user stories, defects, tests, and more. The CollabNet TeamForge platform will be offered via referral or co-sell in the HP MarketPlace Referral Program. Certified integration software is available as a free open-source download at www.collab.net/HP.
The integration with the CollabNet TeamForge platform includes HP Quality Center’s Requirements, Defects, and Test Management Modules. The CollabNet TeamForge Connector Framework provides real-time synchronization between the products, associating requirements, defects, tasks, and other development artifacts directly with source code.
The integration provides users with a wide variety of benefits. Powerful, automatic associations provide end-to-end traceability across organizational boundaries, mitigating risk, helping to ensure compliance, and closing communication gaps. Improved communication and collaboration accelerate innovation, increase quality, and drive efficiency. The resulting business agility lowers cost and risk and increases quality and profitability.
“HP Quality Center and TeamForge are ideal complements, each providing 100% agnostic support for every technology, IDE, and development process,” said Bill Portelli, chief executive officer, CollabNet. “The combination provides both developers and quality assurance professionals with unparalleled flexibility in creating business capabilities and applications – enabling collaboration not only within a project, but also enabling software asset leverage across projects in the enterprise as well.”
“Clients are aggressively moving to modernize their applications and need innovative solutions to enable the real-time collaboration that today’s application lifecycles demand,” said Jonathan Rende, vice president and general manager, Business Technology Optimization Applications, Software and Solutions, HP. “The collaboration between HP and CollabNet helps organizations accelerate innovation, increase quality and drive efficiencies.”
