CollabNet Enables Distributed Agile Development With ScrumWorks Pro – TeamForge Integration
New ScrumWorks Pro Release Features Bi-Directional TeamForge Syncing, Upgraded API, and Other Community-Requested Features
BRISBANE, Calif., July 8, 2010 — CollabNet®, the leader in Agile application lifecycle management (Agile ALM) in the Cloud, today announced the general availability release of ScrumWorks® Pro 4.4. The new version of the popular project and program management software is fully integrated with the CollabNet TeamForge® ALM platform, creating an end-to-end Agile ALM platform for distributed software development. ScrumWorks Pro artifacts, such as sprints, backlog items, tasks, releases, and themes, can now be linked with source code, wiki entries, email messages, bugs, and other artifacts in the CollabNet TeamForge platform. Users of each product can view and modify scrum assets in the other, enhancing team-wide collaboration, and TeamForge’s tracing and advanced search capabilities are now available to both products. More information about CollabNet’s software products is available at www.collab.net.
Distributed Agile teams facing lifecycle visibility challenges and seeking to provide superior responsiveness to the needs of their business users and customers will especially benefit from the traceability that the integration provides. TeamForge search will also improve data visibility, institutional knowledge, and asset re-use in enterprises using ScrumWorks Pro across large, distributed development teams.
A webinar demonstrating the benefits of the integration and the other new features of ScrumWorks Pro 4.4 will be held on July 20, 2010. Free registration is available at www.open.collab.net/webinar/69/.
“The merger of the CollabNet and Danube teams was driven by a common vision of ‘Agile ALM in the Cloud’ for distributed teams. The vision included fully integrated capabilities for project and program management, software development, and deployment and delivery in public and private clouds,” said Bill Portelli, chief executive officer, CollabNet. “Today’s new release of ScrumWorks Pro is the first step in the delivery of that vision, bringing together the disciplines and stakeholders of scrum project and program management and the underlying software lifecycle artifacts of software development teams.”
New Features in ScrumWorks Pro 4.4
The new version of ScrumWorks Pro leverages the CollabNet Connector Framework to provide bi-directional syncing with TeamForge. Major changes to the ScrumWorks Pro API were also made, enabling bi-directional “polling” syncing with other tools and ensuring future backwards compatibility. Community-requested features, including “Estimated vs. Actual” reporting and an “Original Task Estimates” field, were also added.
