CollabNet Extends Enterprise Git Leadership with Hiring of Dariusz Łuksza, A Leading Open Source and eGIT Committer

CollabNet leads enterprise adoption of Git and integrated use of Git and Subversion

BRISBANE, Calif., Sept. 19, 2012, CollabNet® (, a global leader for Enterprise Cloud Development and Agile ALM, today announced that Dariusz Luksza, one of the lead committers for the eGit open source project, has joined the company as a software engineer. Luksza will support CollabNet’s commitment to bring enterprise-grade versions of Git, jGit and Gerrit to developers by integrating the popular Git source code management (SCM) system within its TeamForge ALM and CloudForge platforms. CollabNet has deep roots supporting open source SCM as the creator of Subversion.

“I joined CollabNet because they offer me the opportunity to extend my open source contributions to Gerrit, jGit and eGit, and to help expand the use of Git-based tools to meet the enterprise requirements currently available for Subversion,” said Luksza, who will be based out of CollabNet’s fast-growing Berlin office. “I am excited to work on innovative, Git-related software that will improve the software development process for programmers within open source, ALM and cloud development environments.”

Luksza is a seasoned application developer and an active software community member, contributing to several open source projects, frequently speaking at technology conferences, blogging on technical and industry developments, and being a self-proclaimed “Linux enthusiast.” In addition to being one of the lead committers for eGit, Luksza has been recognized as a Top Contributor by the Eclipse Community Awards, and is co-organizer of the DevCrowd conference. Prior to joining CollabNet, Luksza worked at Nordic Consulting & Development Company (NCDC), a Danish-Polish firm, where he helped produce software tailored to large financial institutions, particularly European insurance firms.

CollabNet has extensive experience bringing the value of open source innovation to the enterprise. In 2000, it created the Apache Subversion open source version control system that today is used by more than 5 million developers around the globe. Its Subversion Edge product includes a complete certified stack of Apache, Subversion and ViewVC, making it a favorite of enterprise IT organizations. With the growing popularity of Git, CollabNet continues to innovate, offering the industry’s first enterprise-grade Git offering within its TeamForge and CloudForge platforms, and the only integrated offering of Subversion and Git. CollabNet will continue, through the addition of technical leaders like Luksza, to make Git a viable choice for enterprise IT organizations where the highest standards in support, security, availability and back-up are a “must” requirement.
