Detailed Course Guide

Following are the topics covered:

  • Introduction to Lean/Agile – Includes learning what agile is, understanding what Lean means, how agile and lean are similar yet have some subtle differentiators, and learn the benefits of adopting Lean Thinking
  • Kanban Simulation – There is no better way to learn than by doing, so playing the kanban game quickly immerses students into learning how to make Kanban work
  • Kanban Overview – With the experience of the simulation, it’s time to understand the Kanban including getting started, maintaining, and folding in other supporting practices
  • VersionOne Foundations – Armed with the knowledge of agile and Lean, and specifically kanban, it’s time to see how VersionOne enables the teams to leverage Kanban and helps Lean practicing teams to continuously improve. Within the VersionOne Foundations session, students learn how to:
    • Get help within VersionOne
    • Use the VersionOne grid, including how to filter, sort and customize the view
    • Add, delete and rank backlog items in grid view
    • Collaborate with team members using the Conversations, Subscriptions and TeamRoom features
    • Leverage the Storyboard, Taskboard and Testboard functionality
    • Learn team member related reporting that is part of Kanban and reinforces Lean/Agile practices
